Some things just don't bounce well. I was taking photos of my friend's cats, while I was playing with them. Went to flip a string for them to chase, and my camera flew out of my hand. It landed directly on the lens system, much to my horror. You have to understand, I have carried my little camera with me everywhere, every single day for the past 3 years. We were a team. When it flew out of my hand I cried out, "Oh no." I am feeling a great sense of loss. So, now I am on a hunt searching for a camera to take its place. What should I get? Reviews and reviewers, cannot see what is important to me.

oh no!!! I feel your pain, Matthew!
I have a Canon Rebel XTI digital & when it mysteriously stopped working I, too was devastated! It is fixed now, but the repair cost was outrageous ($300)! It's a good camera but if you want to spend $1000 on a good digital, I personally think the Nikon takes much better pictures. The presets on the Canon digital doesn't take nearly as good as expected so I have to shoot manual most of the time and always have to edit. I also have a 5 year old Sony point & shoot camera that takes very good pix with a lot less effort than the Canon & was only about $5oo (probably cheaper now). Depending on how much money you want to invest in a new one and how much effort you want to put into the photos. Your Cybershot looks like it would have been very user friendly & convenient to carry with you everyday. I wish I had one that like that (but unbroken) hehe. Good luck in your hunt for a new one! I hope you find the perfect one to fall in love with!
